This is an old style restaurant, with some diner-style seating as well as tables, some round booths, etc. there is an eclectic collection of doodads when you first walk in, which are attractions to young children. We ordered drinks and food. The service was very friendly. The menu included some gringo Mexican fare, but also had Menudo, Carne Asada, Pozole, etc. I ordered a Monster Burger, which had some nice hot chiles on it. Had I known how good they would be, I would have ordered extra. Their hard shell tacos that we ordered were homemade, and were quite good. We also had ordered a Taco Salad, which came in a nice homemade bowl with a lot of puffiness - delightful. The Carne Asada was flavorful. The Menudo is quite good, though like at many places I had to add salt. It came with onions and lime, of course, but along with tortillas, they offered a buttered Bolillo as an option, which I tried. It soaked up broth nicely. The tripe in the soup was very tender. They serve Pepsi, which pleased my family, and the unsweetened iced tea I got came with free refills. They sell a monovarietal ground coffee in bulk, which I meant to buy, but I forgot. They also have some basic toys for kids for nominal prices. The only thing that I would like to see improved is the burger patty themselves. I ordered medium rare. I knew by the length of time that it was not to be, and in fact they came out quite well done. The burger was still good, but it would have been twice as good had it been medium rare, and 33% better had it been medium. Bathrooms were dated, but they had cleaning supplies in a cabinet if needed. They didn't appear to be needed at the moment, though. But the courtesy of having them available is nice.

The only place we could found in the middle of desert. The food was good just like home made style. They also serve breakfast.

Not a fancy location; at the 4 way stop in Carrizozo, NM. BUT I ordered the Carne Asada Tacos - WOW!! Three yummy steak tacos with rice and beans, and an entire side plate loaded with 2 grilled jalapeños, grated cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, chopped onions, salsa and sour cream. It was terrific. Would I order it again? OH YEAH!

Just passing thru and noticed this restaurant so I stopped to have bite to eat. Wow, probably the best nachos I have had in along time. Lots of beef, whole beans and cheese. Other items on menu looked just tempting. Staff friendly and food came out quickly. I will definitely stop next time I come thru town.

When traveling thru this town we discovered this place. It's a small Mexican restaurant off the highway that we were very pleased to have found. This place did not pull up on my maps so I'm so glad we saw it. Service was great and food even better.
